Creative coaching on the clients’ terms

Frida Spikdotter · February 24, 2026

It’s relatively easy to decide to explore your creativity. Lots of people make that decision. It only takes a few minutes, or maybe an evening. Probably with a few glasses of wine and good friends.

“This time is different! This time I’m serious…”

The critical moment comes later. In the doing. In the staying power. Work is busy. Vacations are busy. Weekends are busy. Everything is, generally, always busy.

And soon, you’re right back where you started. In that feeling of life slipping away, and something is missing.

I’ve had countless clients with big ambitions, intense dreams, deep longing, and extraordinary capacity. But without the doing, nothing happens. If you don’t integrate creativity as a natural part of everyday life, it rarely goes anywhere. Sure, there are exceptions — but that’s not what I’m talking about here.

The human coach can never be replaced. The eye contact, the coffee, the clink of porcelain, the laughter, the tears of tenderness and the tears of grief, the shivers, that click of recognition in someone’s eyes. But Friday is a wonderful complement. One that keeps the ember alive in everyday life. That’s there immediately when you need to move forward — right here, right now.

Because this has always been my biggest struggle. Projects losing momentum, clients not being able to afford to meet as often as they need or want to, me only being able to give occasional nudges that are lovely and good — but that never carry as far as I’d like.

The feeling of being present and absent at the same time is a bit like when the kids have left home. You miss them (sometimes…) — but you’re also so happy they’re managing on their own.

I love my clients and all their quirks and whims. Now I’ve found a way to help them keep their creative pulse going in everyday life.

But on their terms.

Not mine.
